Konstantinos Vriniotis established his winery in Gialtra in Evia in 2002. However, his association with Evia goes several generations back when his ancestors planted grapevines in the area in the 1850s. The vineyards of Vriniotis lies in Gialtra, Edipsos and Telethrio Mountain in Northern Evia. Organic farming is employed in these vineyards and the focus is on quality rather than volume.The total production of this winery is 50000 bottles!

His vineyards benfits from their location where the sea breezes provide an excellent temperate climate for growing grapes. Kostas is definitely gifted with excellent vineyards, but his strength also lies in his innovative spirit. While the vineyards grow Syrah and Assyrtiko, he has started to revive Vradiano, a grape that was growing extinct. He also does small bottling of Syrah and Assyrtiko which are fermented in barrel on lies (sur lies) and the outcomes are stunning! It’s a little wonder that this winery is starting to be in the radar of critics. Watch out for great things from Evia!
