Mas Tinell
Cava & Penedes
In 1997 at Spanish princess Cristina’s wedding a Cava Brut Real from Penedes flowed freely. The same Cava Brut Real was selected in 2008 as the official Cava of the Beijing Olympics. This Cava Brut Real from Penedes was made at the bodega of Mas Tinell.
This is an estate that strives to embody luxury, elegance in both design and wine. A mere 35 minutes from Barcelona, in the town of Villafranca del Penedes, Mas Tinell became the first Spanish Cava producer to build a luxury hotel. Resembling Cava bottles at rest, this hotel was heavily influenced by the architecture of Gaudi.
On the property is also the famed restaurant El Rima that showcases the fine cuisine of Catalunya and the Mediterranean. It was a natural extension for Mas Tinell as this bodega is famed for its luxury sparkling wines.
The quality of their wines is widely recognised by national and international awards which are: Gold Medals at the World Wine Competition in Brussels (Belgium)
Silver Medals at the Decanter (United Kingdom)
the Mondiale du Rosé (France)
Bronze Medals at the Wine & Spirit Competition (United Kingdom)
Challenge International (Hong Kong).
Also, in 2014 Mas Tinell won: “Best tourist establishment award in Spain”, as awarded by the Spanish Association of Wine Cities (ACEVIN).

Mas Tinell exemplifies what Cava should be. Unlike “industrial” Cava that is hastily released, Mas Tinell only produces Reserva (aged 3 years) and Gran Reserva (aged 6 years). These are some serious bubblies worthy of any occasion and fine food. Not only is every bottle and lot individually numbered, the disgorgement date of each bottle is shown too.
That kind of detail is reflected in every bottle that Mas Tinell produces. It is a treat for us to be able to present the wines of Mas Tinell and introduce the luxury of fine crafted Spanish Cava
